Nancy Conforti is a Grammy-nominated audio engineer based in New York. Every time she enters the studio, Nancy not only brings her classical and academic background, but also a wealth of knowledge in different genres that stems from her own diverse taste. She is consistently inspired by Frank Ocean’s intentional production, Alex G’s versatility, and Mitski’s brutally honest lyricism. No matter how much work she puts into her career, Nancy’s enthusiasm for live music and her favorite musicians has never diminished. As a lifelong music maker and listener, she hopes that her work with smaller artists and labels helps to elevate their work and bring their songs to the fans who need them most. Nancy adds clarity and smoothness to every piece she touches and maintains a commitment to good music that sounds good.

After she immersed herself in the music programs of her high school in Baldwin, New York, Nancy attended the Hartt School at the University of Hartford and received a Bachelor of Music in Music Production and Technology in 2017. During school, she held studio engineering internships at Ghost Hit Recording Studio and JimChap Studios. Nancy also spent the summer of 2018 as a recording engineer at the Interlochen Arts Camp, reaffirming her support for young musicians. In 2019, she received a Master of Music from McGill University in Sound Recording. She then worked as a recording engineer at Aspen Music Festival in Colorado and Yale University’s School of Music.

Since 2019, Nancy has been an audio engineer at SwanStudios.nyc, where she works with both tape and disc analog masters to archive, remaster, and restore recordings for major labels like Sony Classical and Mosaic Records. In 2021, she was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Historical Album as a mastering engineer on Marian Anderson - Beyond The Music: Her Complete RCA Victor Recordings. Nancy received her second Best Historical Album nomination in 2024 as a mastering engineer on Paul Robeson - Voice of Freedom: His Complete Columbia, RCA, HMV, and Victor Recordings.

Nancy is also a proud voting member of the Recording Academy, valuing the opportunity to shape the progress and canon of recorded music’s future. She is especially passionate to do so through freelance mixing and mastering for independent artists and labels. Her work has appeared on labels including Funnybone Records, Dots Per Inch Music, No Sleep Records and Permanent Creeps and with artists like Sadie, Blood, and Figurine.
